Fisherman's Terrace- Brave The Aberdeen Parking Lot and Eat Some Dim Sum

I realize that I always go to Fisherman's Terrace for dim sum but I have actually never blogged about it before.

On one particular occasion I came here again for dim sum with some friends of mine. We came on a weekday so luckily we didn't have to wait for a table. But a word of caution. On Sundays and holidays, the wait can get up to an hour or more!  Trust me, I've been through it X.X.

The seating areas are quite spacious and I never feel like they are rushing me so this place is great for chatting and catching up with loved ones.

My friends and I always love ordering this cold plate as it is a great refreshing appetizer. It is called "Hand Shredded Chicken" and it is a layered dish in which the bottom comprises of thin wonton crisps layered with cold shredded chicken and pickled vegetables and topped with julienne cucumber, sesame seeds, and ginger.

This dim sum dish is one my favourites. :D It contains eggplant stuffed with a shrimp filling and fried until perfection.

Some of my friends wanted to get spring rolls but I didn't try any because I'm not a big fan of them at dim sum restaurants.

This is the ever-so-delicious chicken feet. :D I personally adore chicken and duck (or any type of) feet but that's only because I grew up eating them. I can see how it's gross for some people, but as I always say, be adventurous and try something new. It's not like it'll kill you. :)

They make really good har gows (shrimp dumplings) here as they are always plump, juicy, and fresh. I especially enjoy eating the translucent skin.

The presentation of this was off but it's the ever popular siu mai (pork dumpling). It tasted alright.

For something filling, I would suggest the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf. The aroma of the lotus leaves are absorbed into the rice filling when it is steamed so the rice is really fragrant.

This was my favourite dim sum of the whole meal! Steamed tofu with shrimp filling. Sounds boring but it's extraordinary. The tofu is silky smooth while the shrimp filling is perfectly steamed and juicy. This is a must get item!

The pan-fried turnip cake was lackluster and did not win any points for me. I would never order this again unless it is stir fried with XO sauce or made into something more interesting.

All in all, Fisherman's Terrace is a great place to dine for dim sum and I encourage everyone to dim sum in a big group so you can try a bit of everything. Some items here were a hit or miss but the general consensus is that it's pretty darn good.
