Jethro's Fine Grub- That's Some Tasty Grub

I’ve wanted to go to Jethro’s Fine Grub ever since I heard about their gigantic pancakes and watching them on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”. I went there with Unger and B-boy a while ago but never had the chance to blog about it until now.

There is very limited seating so the wait gets pretty long even with just a few people ahead of you. We were only a group of three and we still had to wait more than 30 minutes for a table.

Look! It’s Guy Fieri’s graffiti on the wall!

We each ordered an entree (which was a big mistake) and here are some of the condiments we were given.

I ordered the South of Denver ($10.00) which had an omelette stuffed with smokey pulled pork, sautéed onions, peppers, smoked gouda, and jalapenos. It was served with hashbrowns and toast (I chose Rye).

I was expecting the pulled pork to be drenched in bbq sauce or something to make it less dry but unfortunately it wasn’t. The omelette was huge in size but not in flavour.

Before I get onto the other two entrees, I just want to give new goers a tip. Sharing is key in this restaurant because the portion sizes are just humongous. If I weren’t with two guys who each have the stomach capacity of two people, we probably would have had to pack an entire entree home.

Unger ordered the Strawberries & Cream Pancakes ($10.00) which had two GIANT buttermilk pancakes with strawberries baked in. It is then topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

The pancakes were both light and fluffy which was perfect. I will definitely be back to try the other variations!

I don’t think you can really know how big it is until you actually see it live. This picture gives you a pretty good perspective though of how large the pancakes were. That is only 1/3 of the pancake!

Feeling indulgent that day, B-boy went with a Chicken Fried Steak (~$11.00) which came with chicken fried steak and eggs with country gravy, hashbrowns, and toast.

The steak was super crunchy and the country gravy totally made the dish! This completely ruins any healthy diet but it’s well worth it. :D

I liked how the hashbrowns were crispy and in good sized chunks.

He chose ‘soft poached’ for his two eggs and they came out just as he requested. The yolk had a perfect consistency and the poached method is definitely way healthier so it was a win-win situation!

Overall, Jethro’s is an awesome breakfast and lunch diner serving up good eats with a twist. I most definitely will return for some alligator nuggets or pancakes!
