Boston Pizza (Ackroyd)- Tale Of the Free Birthday Pasta

Here’s another birthday freebie that I took advantage of! Boston Pizza. Since I signed up for their newsletter, I received an e-mail prior to my birthday about a free birthday pasta or dessert!

Meta Knight and I came on what we thought was a regular night. However, it was actually Tuesday so they were having their “Pasta Tuesday” specials. Every Tuesday, their pastas become $10.99 which is a steal since some pastas (like the one I ordered) is around regularly $18.75. I chose the Boston’s Smoky Mountain Spaghetti and Meatballs (Free!) which is just spaghetti smothered in Bolognese meat sauce and three large meatballs.

It also came with a side of garlic toast which I liked. The spaghetti was not mind blowing but it did taste better than I expected. The meatballs were surprisingly tender and soft and not a least bit dry. As well, with every bite of the meatball, I got an explosion of flavour which was truly unexpected.

Meta Knight went with the Seafood Fettucini ($10.99) which had ‘tender sea scallops, wild salmon, juicy prawns, and steamed mussels tossed in a creamy white wine sauce’.

Props to Boston Pizza for actually using wild salmon because I could really see and taste the difference. I thought the pasta needed a bit more flavour but it wasn’t a big deal since I could just smother it with parmesan cheese and pepper flakes. :P

LOVE these condiments. Parmesan cheese makes everything taste better. :)

Since I had a free birthday pasta and we came on ‘Pasta Tuesday’, our meal was extremely cheap for the amount we received. ~$14 bucks for two giant pasta dishes? Get outta here! :D Needless to say, I was a very happy Kirby that day.

  2. Did you go to Blenz too?
Luckily you had a good experience at that BP location... I used to live right across from it, but the food wasn't that great...

  3. I did! Birthdays are never complete without a free Blenz drink :P Yeah I never thought BP was that good, but it surprised me this time. It probably was also because it was really cheap so I felt like the price justified the quality. If I had to pay full price I probably wouldn't think it was worth it.
