Flying Beaver- Perfect Spot to Chill, Watch the Game, & Eat a Burger

In Richmond, there aren't many good pubs out there. Actually, there aren't many pubs in general because the only ones I know of is Shark Club, Legends Pub, and Flying Beaver. I periodically dine at Flying Beaver whenever I'm craving a burger, or when my friends and I want to be savage and devour cheap wings during a Canucks game. Btw, they have $0.40 wings on Weds and Sundays after 5pm!

During a visit with B-Boy, Sis, and Pooh^2, we ordered four appys because it was Monday and they have 2 for 1 appys on Mondays after 5pm. Each person also has to order a drink in order to get the special.

Starting from the left going clockwise, there is the Spinach and Artichoke Dip ($10.95), Coconut Prawns ($9.95), Crab Stuffed Portobellini ($12.95), and Steak Bites ($9.95). They charged us for the two most expensive appys so it ended up being $24.00 for the above which is pretty good. The spinach dip was great and the tortillas were freshly fried. The steak bites were a bit tough so I probably wouldn't order that again. The coconut prawns and the crab stuffed portobellini were my favourite though by far!

For the entree, Sis and I shared the Homemade Bison Burger ($11.95). It consisted of a homemade bison patty with Guinness infused cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, a pickle, and a choice of salad or fries. Since we wanted a bit of everything, we added $1.50 to get 1/2 fries, 1/2 salad. The burger was amazing! I find Flying Beaver's burgers to be exceptional and always fresh which is one of the reasons why I keep coming back. Their fries are double fried so they are super crispy and delicious. :D
This was on another visit here with Trixie. We sat inside and it was dark so excuse the poor quality pictures!

We both ordered the Big Kahuna Burger ($10.95) which has a grilled 6oz chopped steak burger marinated in teriyaki sauce, melted Monterey Jack cheese, pineapple rings, red onion, tomatoes, lettuce, and a pickle. This burger was amazing (as always)!! The sweetness from the pineapple was a perfect contrast to the savoury teriyaki sauce.

This might be weird but I like to judge my burgers by how much juice runs down my hand when I eat it. When there's a lot of juice (not just pure oil!), I know I got myself a good burger. :D God, I love Flying Beaver's burgers... *salivate* Come here if you get a chance because their food is really spectacular and unlike any other pub food you've tasted.

Based on these reasons:
  • they make absolutely delicious burgers and sandwiches
  • affordable prices with specials for each day of the week
  • the quality is way above your normal bar or pub food
  • they have a beautiful view of the Fraser River if you sit on the patio

Update: My friend "Piggy" also tried Flying Beaver despite living really far from Richmond and wrote a post on it (link attached) on her blog "Piggy See Piggy Do", so check it out if you want to read more!
