Izumi-Ya is a large Japanese Marketplace where they sell handmade chocolates, raw meats, vegetables, snacks, and an array of ready made sushi and bento boxes...etc. I am so glad that this place is located close to my house because it is so convenient when you don't have time to just grab a satisfying lunch or dinner.
Once you heat it up, the Katsu Don is really delicious!
These are Cinnamon Twists (~$3.50) and it comes with three pieces of cinnamon bun-like twists. They are super tasty and I believe they are made from a local Japanese bakery before being sold at Izumi-Ya.
Their Dynamite Roll ($4.45) is really huge and is surprisingly quite filling. They added a tad too much mayo to the roll though.
I like how the rice is coated with little fish roe because it adds a nice crunch to the soft rice.
They have this thing which is called a Temaki and I'm assuming it's basically just a normal roll that hasn't had the seaweed put on yet or cut.
This is the California Roll Temaki ($3.95) and it's pretty good. Because you put the seaweed on yourself, it's super fresh and crunchy when you bite into the roll. I'd definitely recommend this.
Their House Roll ($4.45) consists of tamago, spicy fake crab meat, raw salmon, raw tuna, cucumber, and fish roe. The ingredients combined make for a really tasty roll! I especially like their spicy fake crab meat because it gives you a kick which is different from normal "house rolls".
Based on these reasons:
- enormous variety of authentic Japanese snacks, tapas, and entrees
- reasonably priced
- always fresh and made in the morning everyday
- tons of parking
